As of 8/9/2002, the painting was offered for sale at Mark
Borghi Fine Art Inc
The dating is a little odd to me. At least to me, it seems
the painting would be more in line with his earlier venice work. I guess the
dedication (what ever it is I can't read) has helped peg the date.

The old
prison is to the right. On the left is the front of Palazzo Ducale. Connecting
the two buildings is the infamous Bridge of Sighs.

This was
painted in one of the villa di Marlia
near Lucca. He painted many like this in Tuscany and around Rome. He
combines the elegance of the architecture with the foliage of the garden -- the
post and the balustrade actually occupying a greater importance in this
composition.
