He was an
English translator, literary historian, and critic who introduced the work of Henrik Ibsen and other continental European writers to

Hercules himself by Sargent. Not sure if this was a gift or if Hercules
commissioned it. Some seven years later he would paint him again which Sargent
kept for his own collection.
