Forearm and Hand Holding a Book, after Andrea del Sarto

Notes:

Although the Fogg doesn't date the work, these very careful studies of the Masters are often indicative of his early work. For the sake of narrative, I have placed it in the year 1874 when he was studying at the Accademia in Florence. Certainly the students would go to the Uffizi from time to time to copy the Masters and this could have been one of them.

Still, it could just as easily be part of his studies for the mural work he was doing in Boston in the 90's and beyond, so it's hard to say.
