I thought you might be interested to know that the portrait you list as "John Singer Sargent's John D Rockefeller Sr (2)" is on display in the Kenneth G. Fisher Library at the University of Chicago Gleacher Center, 450 N Cityfront Plaza Drive, Chicago IL 60611 (312) 464-8730.

It does not have any labels that might say who owns it.
