Sylvia Harrison (1896-1989) was the daughter of Peter and Alma Harrison (nee Strettell) -- both were Sargent's close friends.

Some time later Sylvia wrote to art historian McKibbin, "The shawl in which I was painted was kept in Sargent's studio, & I think he painted quite a number of people in it, but apart from Rose-Marie, his niece, I don't know who they were"
