Cellini's "Perseus" is located at Loggia dei Lanzi, Florence. He would visit this area a number of times and would do many sketches and paintings of "perseus" from just about every possible vantage and medium.

This was a subject that appealed to Sargent and when he worked on the murals for the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, he would once again return to this subject.
