Provenance
The artist; her daughter, Mrs. Emily C. Albright Knight, by 1886.[1] (Robert Carlen, Philadelphia); sold 1948 to Edgar William and Bernice Chrysler Garbisch; gift 1971 to NGA.
[1] Salome Hensel later became Mrs. George Albright. According to donor records, the artist's daughter and her husband, Dr. H.D. Knight, had the painting framed in November 1886.
