The Greenville County Museum of Art offers its visitors a way to sample the very best in American art through traveling exhibitions and exhibitions drawn from its own collection.

The Museum's respected Southern Collection is a survey of American art from colonial times to the present, with an emphasis on examples with relationships to the southern United States.

Andrew Wyeth: The Greenville Collection is nearly always on view at the Museum. Recently expanded to thirty-five paintings with the gift of the 1946 watercolor Four Poster, it now includes an example from every major period of Wyeth's career.

Since its inception, the Museum has also collected contemporary art. The Contemporary Collection includes examples from every major movement in American art, featuring artists such as Josef Josef Albers, Jasper Johns, Andy Warhol, Romare Bearden, Jacob Lawrence, Eric Fischl, and Leon Golub.
